Go Fast, Turn Left

Our First Customer of the 08 season!

Cannock Motorsports finally paid some bills on May 30.  Steve Yeager an aspiring race car driver rented the 121 at Snydersville Speedway in Stroudsburg, Pa.  Steve is 17 and a whopping 6'5".  It was interesting to see him climb into and sit in the car!

Steve started 5th out of 7 in his heat.  He was not intimidated at all and he threw the car into the first turn right in the midst of the madness.  He held his own and avoided a few of the more seasoned vets spinning out.  He finished strong in fourth place.  Pretty impressive for a driver that had never raced in this car or at this track before.

The feature didn't start until midnight.  Steve did a great job staying focused during the long layoff.  He rolled off the grid in fourth spot.  Like most dirt tracks the outside isn't where you want to be.  He got shuffled back one spot at the start but quickly rebounded.  He had a great run on the 8Q but got brake checked.  He lost his momentum and the field pulled away and strung out.  He had the car running hard and almost caught the 8Q again but the laps ran out.   Steve finished a very respectable fifth place.

There is no doubt in the Cannock Motorsports home office that Steve has racing skills and if he could get a ride he would be very successful.

Great run Steve!
